WHY FISHING?

Hook Line & Heroes was founded to bring God's love to our disabled and post-traumatic stress (PTS) military veterans and heroes.

Fishing offers the opportunity to show God's love and our appreciation to those who have served us and build a strong Christian relationship.

The outdoors is a great place to connect with God and each other!

Fishing has many natural connections and parallels to faith.

“While I enjoy most all types of fishing, fly fishing in the river is my favorite. It allows me to get away from everything going on in my life for a while. While I’m standing in water that’s been flowing for several million years it becomes very clear that we are here but a brief moment in time and are pretty insignificant. It’s hard to describe, but catching fish is secondary to just being there at that moment. I feel that I’m briefly a part of the actual, natural world and not the artificial one we live and work in every day. Every hour spent fishing adds a day to your life is a saying that I believe in, and hope it’s true.”
— Bill Williams, Marine Veteran
